Oh hey

I'm back. I like to stop blogging for a bit to see how many of you actually care. Ultimately, it's all about my ego. Well, I've had enough pestering from you little dears, that I decided to come back to you in full force! I honestly have been blind to anything pop culture or media or news for the last 3 weeks, so if there's stuff that I post that is old news to you, humor me, alright? Yay!

I don't generally blog personal stuff (because who cares and boooooooring), but we had a death in the family and I decided to take a little time off. Ok with you? Good.

Love you forever, Gabriel Randolph Hanson, you little turd. I miss you.

Dads: The original hipsters

Isn't this dad so rad? Sportin' the chukkas and a cardi. Please check out this website. It makes me think of my own dad and how hip he was back in the day - rockin' his beautiful red mustache and his beautiful white road bike. I love him.

Here are some lovely snow music videos for you to enjoy on this slushy day.

Some dogs go to heaven

I'd like to dedicate this post to my brother's dog, Sam. Sam died this week and it was quite the sad event. Funny how we get so attached to these furry mammals. Goodbye, Sammy! We love you.

On that sad pet note, here is a funny sad pet video... enjoy!!

Party for Two

Next weekend, my parents are going out of town. This was the convo:

Mom, "We're leaving for the weekend... NO PARTIES!"

This is funny because Aaron and I don't have parties. Ever. And when we do, we both are of the mindset that it has to be perfect and that's too much pressure and so we just don't. And funny that our mother, who knows that we are not generally the party throwing kind, felt she had to tell us this. I also find it funny that our mom would assume we were on a TV sitcom and that's the first thing kids do when mom and dad go out of town.

Later, Aaron and I were hanging out and I asked him if he was actually going to have a party while they were gone. He responded:

Aaron, "You know we are gonna have a party... A party for two."

Me, incredulous, "Whaaaaaaaaa?"

He then begins to sing the Shania Twain song all animatedly. He stops and seriously states,

"Shania always knows what to say."

I died laughing... classic, Aaron, truly classic.

We gonna party

...Like it's your birthday. Because guess what? It is.

Happy 23rd Birthday, Aaron Randolph!

What a darling boy, right?!? Aaron is my younger brother and he is just a gem. My whole life he has been my BFFLE (best friend for like ever). He is handsome, hilarious, hardworking and hip. He is a support in my life that I would hate to ever go without.

Aaron, I hope you are having a wonderful birthday. I love you!

Little Twit

My brothers and I go out to lunch sometimes and sometimes it's really awesome. One time a few weeks ago, as we were sitting on the patio of Jimmy Johns, my big brother Nate, tweets this:

He kills me!

Darling Summer

This is me and my not so little brother at a recent and wonderful pool party (and why oh why do I type out 'poop' every single time I want to type out 'pool'?? See! I just did it there and had to fix it. My fingers have been trained to type 'poop' no matter what! Sad sad sad that it's second nature to be a potty mouth. I'll grow up someday.)

Love love the fam

Last night I hung out with my family at a birthday party for my one-year-old little niece, Ashtyn. Good times. My brothers and sisters are the freaking best. Everyone is so goofy and so rad! Family is the best. Seriously.

I heart Gchat

Gmail chatting is the new rage and if you want to be hip - get a gmail account and add me as a friend and we can chat all the time!!

Even my brothers love it. They love it so much that they now video chat even though their offices are a foot apart. Oh the brotherly love.

Oh, Bev. Happy Birthday.

To my mother who made this blog possible by birthing me. Thank you mom for all that you do. Dearest Maude (short for Madre... that's our thing you know. I come up with witty names for her and she answers to them. I think I called her 'Muth' short for mother for a few years. Maude is my favorite though, I think), you are so beautiful and so talented. Whether it's your garden, your house, or your own sassy style - I can always count on you to be totally hip and classy. You've taught me so much! Thank you thank you thank you for everything! I love you! And seriously... YOU DO NOT LOOK 60!!

Can we all just agree that this is the most sweetest little toddler picture ever??

Are you seeing that face? Sheesh, so cute.

Total babeness even at 14. She wins.

Kids everywhere.

While building our house. Look at her hair. Look at baby Aaron. That's all I'm gonna say.

Hey, Dad!

Happy Father's Day!! Thank you for everything you do. You seriously are so wonderful. I love you!

And... Sorry to post 2 videos in a row, but this one seriously made me weep a little. At work. It was embarrassing.

Meet My Personal Trainer

So as I mentioned before, I am going on vacation here in a couple weeks and I need to get my body ready for some beach lovin'. As a music major, I have totally lost all habits of working out on a regular basis. I've got to practice! There's no time for a hot bod when you're singing your guts out... I know lame excuse.
Well, Aaron, my little brother, thought it was lame, too. So he took me to the gym and helped me with some rad moves that would help me trim up a bit. I got my butt kicked and we only worked my arms! I seriously can't even lift them today! I'm a wuss. But it's ok. I'll keep working. Goodbye Relief-Society-Arms!!!

Hot Pants!

This post is dedicated to my sweet little big sister KRISTIN.
Happy Birthday, Woman!
Kristin, you are just such a rad lady. I look up to you so much! I want to be you when I grow up. You are so fun and so funny. I love being with you. You have always been there for me when I've needed you, so thank you. I love you!!

Some awesome things about Kristin: she is a great mom of six rad kids, she is a kick-butt gardener, she is an awesome wife, she is not ashamed to do weird things in public... which is hilarious, she is a great sister and always has awesome advice, she has great taste in music... Oh! And she loves Sting more than I do, which is saying something! One of my favorite experiences with Kristin is when we were at a Sting concert with her husband, Tyler, and our sister Brittany. She was 8 months pregnant and she was still game for sneaking backstage to try and meet Sting. I think we actually used the line that if they would let us backstage, she would name her child after Sting. Well, something we did must have worked... I think I became buddy buddy with the security guard... anyway, we got back to the band. It was sweet. Sting wasn't there, he had been snowboarding all day before the concert and was beat, so he was already in his bus. But even still it was a rad experience. We kind of just chilled with the band for a little while. It was sweet. I grabbed a Gatorade and Kristin grabbed a Perrier from the band's food table as a little Sting memorabilia.
I wanted to put up a couple pictures of Kristin, but I could not decide which ones... so I put them all on here. Enjoy:

Me and Kristin a few years ago.
Glamming it up for the photo booth.
With her friend back in the 80's... seriously rockin' that sweet hair and denim jacket.
At Halloween with her husband, Tyler. Yes, they are polygamists. Hilarious!!
Cheesin' it up.

Lastly, I'd like to dedicate this sweet music video to Kristin. I love you, girl.

A LOVE letter to Natey-Poo

Dear Nate,

You are my older brother, so I love you. You just had a birthday and I want to dedicate this post to you! Here are a few reasons why I love you:
  1. You are SO funny. Seriously, you make me laugh so hard! Remember when we went to a movie back in December? We were sitting in a packed theater to see Valkerie, and we get to the end of the previews and the THX digital thing comes on and you begin to hum along to the ever increasing loud noise in the same pitch. All of a sudden, the sound in the theater stops but your high pitched screech does not. Everyone in the whole theater turns to look at this big burly bearded man singing a horribly high note in falsetto - priceless! Everyone in the theater starts laughing along with me and the beginning of the movie is ruined. SO FUNNY!
  2. You dress well. You do!
  3. You have great taste in food. I respect that.
  4. You are way fun to hang out with.
  5. You love technology.
  6. You do what you want.
  7. You have some sweet vehicles.
  8. You love your family like crazy. I love that.
  9. You don't take crap from nobody.
  10. Your wife is a rad girl. (This one is indirectly about you: You have good taste in women.)
So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY Nate! Love you!

Love your favorite sister of all time,

KP

Yeeeeah! Spring Break!

Midterms are over and I'm officially out of school for a whole stinking week! Now I can work more... and blog more. I'm living the dream, I tell you!

So I had a great weekend!

Sunday:

Last night I had dinner with the family - fun stuff! We had a kick-A Sunday dinner of roast and mashed potatoes. Heaven. Then we had a family home evening that was hilarious. I love my brothers. They're great. Then we spent the night rockin' out on Guitar Hero. I suck at it! I cannot move passed medium. I'm pathetic. The highlights of Sunday: 1- When my brother Nate said something sentimental, my other brother Aaron made a heart with his hands and looked through them and said, "Natey, smile, you're on heart cam." HILARIOUS. 2- My dad packed up the leftovers for me and called them my 'care packages'. Aaron then renamed them my 'stimulus packages'. So funny!

Saturday:

Saturday night was a blast! I got all dressed up and I went to the opera with a good friend. I love the opera. If anyone ever wants to go... I'm your girl! We saw The Marriage of Figaro by Mozart. It was really well done! I seriously cannot wait until it's me up on that stage!

Friday:

Friday I had a choir concert. Bleh. The weirdest thing happened! A cute little 18-year-old boy who is in the orchestra came up to me at the after party and did the strangest thing! He grabbed my choir folder out from under my arm and smacked me on the nose with it. Then he threw the folder down and my music went everywhere.... Yeah, weirdest thing ever! So I'm standing there in shock and he starts to feel bad. So he gives me a hug but forgets that he has a full cup of punch in his hand... he poured half of it down the back of my dress!! Then he ran away. The best part about it all was that there were like 20 people just staring at me in disbelief. Yeah. It seems pretty funny now, but at the time it was quite traumatic. Typical me.

Hands down, the best thing about this weekend was the BEAUTIFUL WEATHER!! You better believe I put the top down on my car all weekend, baby!

Happy Birthday Britkey!

Just a quick little shout out to my big sister Brittany:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BEAUTIFUL!!

You are just such a great example to me! So thanks. A few gems my sister has taught me throughout the years:

1- How to moonwalk like a rockstar. Yes. That is one of my hidden talents. I am very proficient at it (I'm being completely serious on this one. Usually I try to be modest about the things I can do better than everyone else, but not this time.) And it's all thanks to Brittany.
2- A very healthy and natural appreciation for the one and only Sting. MMMMmm.
3- A love of all things Jane Austen. And pretty much anything that has to do with romance/comedy. Britt has the best taste in all of that.

Love you, Britt!

HE'S BACK!!!

I never thought this day would come, but... AARON IS HOME!! I am so so so glad to have him back! We went to dinner and then went home. Before bed, he and I read a talk together... It was quite fun to be his companion for a minute. Welcome back, Aar! And goooooood luck with all the adjusting!

He was afraid to hug me at first... because I'm a girl. Sweet little boy.
